I am trying new is getting more serious with my gaming.

Yes....for those that just went "Huh? Need to get serious about...gaming?" Why, yes. Gaming in this time frame has gotten to be a big industry. Talking about gaming...reviewing the games...tweeting about the games...streaming the games...sharing the games. Everything is going geek and that is a huge plus for me.
When I was little I didn't really game that much. Mostly because we didn't have the techs for the gaming systems. I lived out in the rural areas and I have a Dad that was: you want to game? Then go outside and do some work outdoors...that's a game in itself. And I was hooked. There was so much to do outside that you just can't get from a game. So I never thought about it again. That is until my brother started getting me some games (mostly because they costed so much and he was all about showcasing to people how much money he makes) I was hooked. That was until I realized a few of the games you really needed to play with someone else. So it wasn't fun anymore.
Couple of years go by and I got a Gameboy and I took it to school. I was pretty popular for a few days let me tell you!!! But still the same concept....didn't have anyone to really play with and I always felt that playing a game with someone else was the whole purpose of playing these games. So put them away and just went with the real world.
I was also into comics and Superman but in school that got bullied out until Senior year when I just didn't care what people thought anymore and got back into comics. So started my love of everything DC. Wasn't until a few years later when Marvel started making their movies did I have some love for Marvel....but I will always be a DC girl.
That is until I met someone that came into the Library one day and wanted to invite me to play some games with him. It was mostly to see about dating me (which I didn't know until 5 years later but that is a whole other story) but I was intrigued about playing some games so I went.
10 years later...still friends with that guy and made a ton more friends because we share the love of Comics, DC, Marvel and Lord of the Rings....I have my own Xbox One and Nintendo Switch and streaming live on computers of my gaming. For a bit I was talking with a few friends trying to make this into a business or something....then I got the call to try out for dispatch.
So I was absent from gaming for about 5 months while training. Now that I am back it is a little difficult to tell the truth to get back to gaming.
So much has changed over the past 5 months that I wasn't aware and many of my friends have moved on to other things or have parted because someone said something a few months ago and I wasn't there to hear it or help out. Now that part I do feel bad over but you know this stuff happens.
But the fun part for me is the amazing response from the people of Twitch and gaming when I started to pop up on the streams has been really amazing. So many people are so welcoming and so excited to help out anyway they can. And that is the best part about gaming with friends. They always try to have your back and help you out whenever they can. Now there are many out there that want to see you fail and bring you down....best part about gaming...you can tune those people out. You don't need that negativity in your life let alone in gaming so you have the option to tune them out and move on to other things.
The people that are excited about gaming and just want people to enjoy that are out there....you just gotta find them. Once they find out they have the same interests as you...boom! Best friends!!!
Same thing with my geek stuff....my love of DC, Superman, Lord of the Rings and Comic Con...those people have been on the end of bullying so they don't themselves. Whatever you are into, so are they and even if they aren't they don't ridicule you for what you like. They let you like whatever you want to like and share the things that they love as well. That is why I enjoy these people then any other people. They back you up 100% and share the love they have with things they like and cheer you up with the things you love. The people that call themselves "in the real life" they don't do that all.
So to all my geek and nerds and gamer friends out there....stay weird as possible. You are so awesomesauce.

I played around with a couple different names and a friend of mine was like "I'm doing stuff with food on mine it would be cool if you did too." So I worked with some Waffle names (for I am a huge fan of Waffles) and in one of the name generators came up with DreamingofWaffles. So I switched it around and came up with this one.
Everyone loves calling me Waffles. It's so much fun.

As they all say "Ten years from now, make sure you can say that you chose your life, you didn't settle for it."
